  • @davideberhardt4977 says:

I agree with your point that they are rejecting the product, not the salesperson. I’ve had people come to our door during political campaign seasons and they are very nice people but once I learn who they are campaigning for, I say no thanks and goodbye. Correction; I first make my pitch for my team and then I say goodbye.

Russell, the quality of your videos is amazing. You should give a raise your editor. Wow. I talk to my son every day while he’s out selling security systems on the street. He’s been door-to-door selling for three years now. He can make a person laugh in 2 seconds after opening the door. And he can make you feel sorry for him just as fast. And he can make you sign a contract you didn’t think you’d be signing 15 minutes earlier. On the streets is where you learn to get the skillz that pay the billz. Excellent video Russell.

Door to door vs selling from the stage vs social media marketing. 3 totally different mediums. One is completely unsolicited, one happens when a person actually pays to be sold to, and one happens when a person decides to watch a free informational.

Fantastic stuff, Russell! I’ve done D2D sales for the past four years, and I feel like I’ve grown more as a person in this job than any other. Trying to “get out of my own way” is always the biggest challenge. I had a supervisor who said that the most difficult door to get through is your own car door! Anyway, wonderful stuff. Incidentally, much respect for your missionary D2D days! I only wish my fellow evangelical brothers and sisters would be so bold and compassionate as to knock on a stranger’s door. Anyway, best to you. Looking forward to your future videos.

I just started 2.5 weeks ago. And I want to quit bc I just canโ€™t stand all the hate I get. I am used to getting people loving me after meeting them. But this job doesnโ€™t leave me an opportunity to let the person get to know me. What can you say that might help me stay motivated like I was the first 2 weeks

    • @jesusislord27 says:

@alecgutierrez1709ย  I can certainly relate to the pain of having to navigate all the hate that can flow our way. It can really get to all of us who go D2D. At the expense of sounding formulaic, I would really encourage you to give it more time. For me, I came to realize that the hate is never really personal. They don’t know us like our closest friends and family know us. Some folks seem to find it therapeutic to vent on complete strangers! For me, I have found that validation is a powerful tool to bring difficult customers down a notch. In other words, when they start venting (hating) on us, I will often times reply by saying, “Mr. (Customer), you have every right to be frustrated. I think I would feel exactly the same way as you if that happened to me….” It’s amazing how such validation can de-escalate challenging customers. Most of them just want to be validated. Then, more often than not, I can move the conversation forward and overcome their objections. I might not always close that particular sale, but at least I can leave the door feeling like some positivity has been restored. Anyway, that is just a thought. I hope you give it some time. It truly does get easier. Before long, the anxiety will become less, and you will find yourself really enjoying D2D. Just takes time and persistence. Best to you!

    • @alecgutierrez1709 says:

@alecgutierrez1709ย  So glad you plan to stay with it! Like any job, D2D has its mix of rewards and challenges, but overall, I would say it is the most fun job I’ve ever had. It’s great not being stuck behind a desk all day! Best of luck to you!
